Henry Ford said the accumulation of wealth has less to do with how much one makes and more to do with how much one does not spend. Unfortunately my wife finds this a completely foreign concept. So no, household spending isn't going down.
My pay has been stagnant for the last 3 years due to a poor business climate.
Absolutely. In fact I was on a knife edge financially and this pushed me off into the negative. The effect has been devastating.
