Omya Announces Investment in Perlite Production Plant
Omya, a global producer of essential minerals and worldwide distributor of specialty materials, recently announced the company is investing in a new production facility for closed-cell expanded perlite products at its existing site in Moerdijk, Netherlands. Products manufactured in the new facility will be sold under the Omyasphere 200 series brand.
Bernd Balzereit, vice president Market Development & Innovation for Region Europe at Omya, said, “This new facility will use our leading process technology for perlite microsphere production, significantly increasing our capacity for Omyasphere 200 to serve growing customer needs. This investment brings Omya a step closer to becoming a global leader in manufacturing and distributing lightweight fillers.”

We are seeing increasing demand for lightweighting and insulation solutions in the European market.
