Omya, a global producer of essential minerals and a worldwide distributor of specialty chemicals, is investing in a new production line in Gummern, Austria, for its Carolith^® granules portfolio.

Herlinde Wauteraerts, CEO for Region Europe at Omya, explained, “This substantial investment in our production facility in Gummern will support the continued supply of high quality, white marble granules and powder to our key customers in Central and Eastern Europe. The new line is expected to be in full production by Q1 2027 and we will switch some production volumes immediately to meet demand.”

Omya stated that the company will continue producing Carolith granules at its Neu Pirka plant to maintain supply to existing customers.
