The international manufacturer of adhesive tapes and self-adhesive product solutions, tesa, has been recognized by two leading organizations for outstanding sustainability performance. CDP, the world's largest platform for environmental data, once again awarded tesa's climate protection measures with a grade A, the top grade. At the same time, tesa received Gold status from EcoVadis for the third consecutive time. These ratings underline the effectiveness of the holistic sustainability strategy "we do" and confirm tesa's leading role in the sustainable transformation of the industry.
According to tesa, the top placements at CDP and EcoVadis are not only recognition for achievements to date but also serve as an important benchmark for the company's ambitious sustainability goals. With the CDP A-rating in climate protection, tesa is among only two percent of globally assessed companies taking a pioneering role. The renewed EcoVadis Gold status also confirms the excellent performance in the areas of environmental management, sustainable supply chains, working conditions, and ethics.
"We are delighted about the award with the top grade A in the CDP rating and the EcoVadis Gold medal. They confirm our progress in various sustainability areas," explained Dr. Ingrid Sebald, board member, Technology, at tesa. "While the CDP rating recognizes our successes in emissions reduction, the EcoVadis Gold status additionally highlights our achievements in the areas of sustainable supply chains, working conditions, and ethics. Both awards demonstrate the effectiveness of our holistic sustainability strategy and motivate us to continue developing innovative solutions that go beyond legal requirements and make tesa a pioneer in sustainability."
As part of the "we do" strategy, tesa aims for climate-neutral production by 2030, with already 39% less CO₂ emissions (Scope 1+2) since 2018 and 90% renewable electricity. At the same time, the company promotes transparency in the supply chain through EcoVadis self-assessments, with 70% of raw material expenditures already going to suppliers with proven sustainability standards. These independent ratings strengthen stakeholder confidence and provide valuable insights for continuously improving sustainability performance.
