tesa Highlights Progress at Singapore Debonding on Demand Adhesives Lab

One year after opening its Debonding on Demand laboratory in Singapore, tesa is reporting progress in the development of adhesive technologies designed to improve product repairability, circular product design, and more sustainable manufacturing for the electronics and automotive industries.
Since July 2025, researchers at the laboratory have collaborated with Singapore's Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) to develop new polymer concepts for electronics and automotive applications.
Established through a collaboration between tesa and A*STAR, the laboratory combines the company's adhesive technology expertise with Singapore's advanced materials research capabilities. According to the company, the partnership is intended to accelerate the development of commercially viable manufacturing solutions.
During its first year, the collaboration has focused on polymer chemistry, adhesive formulation, and coating technologies. The teams are continuing to develop up to 20 Debonding on Demand concepts aimed at improving product repairability, component recovery, resource efficiency, and circularity.
The Singapore laboratory is part of the company's global research and development network and supports work on product lifecycle management, resource efficiency, and circular manufacturing.
