MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Canada -- As part of the integration into EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering Inc., EFOS Inc. has changed its name to EXFO Photonic Solutions Inc. Over the next few months, several elements of EFOS will be transitioning to accommodate the change to the EXFO name. The tagline "EFOS is now EXFO" has been adopted to identify many of the support tools that are used in the day-to-day operation of the business. The Web site, www.efos.com, has also been updated to reflect this new identity.

"The driver behind this change," says Kevin Davis, market development manager, EXFO Photonic Solutions, "is to leverage the worldwide strength of the EXFO brand and forward-looking philosophy of what is a truly dynamic company." EXFO was established in 1985 and has shipped over 120,000 product units to more than 2,000 customers in over 70 countries around the world.

The name EXFO Photonic Solutions Inc. is descriptive in two significant ways. The first is that EXFO offers solutions to the photonics or fiber optics market. The second is that the light-based solutions offered are derived from the use of photonic technology. Customers in the microelectronics, medical-device and information-display markets also use these same solutions.
