Degussa has announced the start of production on fumed alumina and cationic-silica dispersions at its North American dispersion plant in Mobile, AL. These specialty products, part of the AEROSIL® business line, are ideally suited to meet the demanding needs of the highly competitive inkjet paper industry. "Degussa's alumina and cationic silica dispersions enable inkjet paper manufacturers to produce inkjet-printable products that offer high gloss, instant dry times, optimum resolution, excellent colorant fixation, and outstanding rub-, smear- and water-resistance," said Leo Nelli, technical specialist for Degussa AEROSIL products. "The high-solids content of these products enables paper manufacturers to realize cost savings from development to production."
