Schenectady International Inc. (SII) has announced a price increase on all grades of phenolic resins shipping on or after Oct. 1, 2004. This increase will range from U.S. $0.10/lb to U.S. $0.20/lb based on raw material, solvent and processing oil content. This addresses not only increased feedstock costs, but also volatile energy, packaging and freight costs. This increase follows a Sept. 1 increase, and primarily reflects the continued extreme volatility seen in the benzene/phenol markets. Schenectady International Inc. is a global manufacturer of alkylphenols, phenolic resins and electronic chemicals, with 25 operations in 14 countries.
