CVC Specialty Chemicals, Inc. has created Epalloy 7192, an unmodified, high molecular weight Bisphenol A-based epoxy resin that is a semi-solid material at room temperature. It is particularly well suited for use in formulating durable high solids coatings, toughened adhesives, laminating resins, and prepeg molding compounds. When compared to lower molecular weight epoxy resins, 7192 will provide faster cure, improved adhesion, more durable cured systems, and toughness, with somewhat reduced high temperature performance. Applications of Epalloy 7192 include high solids primer and coatings, chemical resistant coatings, molding and casting compounds, concrete dikes, adhesives, tooling and laminating.
