RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. -- Forbo Holding AG acquired the Formulated Adhesives, Lyons Coatings and Adhesive/Construction Products Raw Materials businesses of Reichhold, Inc. These businesses will become part of the Industry Specialties Group known in the United States as Forbo Adhesives, LLC, and in Canada as Forbo Adhesives (Canada) Ltd. The integration of the businesses will give Forbo a strong global presence and emulsion-polymer production capability in North America.

The formulated adhesives business includes all the assets and the global business of Reichhold’s Swift Adhesives Division. The Lyons Coatings business includes the facility in Franklin, Mass., which manufactures the Lycoprint(tm), Lyons Coat(tm) and Lyons Bond(tm) product lines. The Adhesive/Construction Raw Material business will be known as the Synthetic Polymers group of Forbo Adhesives, LLC. This business includes the Pace(r), Plyamul(r) and Elvace(r) product lines manufactured in Pt. Moody, British Columbia; Kansas City, Kan.; and Seneca, Ill.

Along with key manufacturing facilities, approximately 600 marketing, sales, manufacturing, management and technical professionals are also part of the sale. Markets served currently include adhesives, product assembly, automotive, packaging, construction, textiles and graphic arts.
