NORDSON CORP. HONORED WITH NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY AWARD

Northwestern University's Forum for People Performance Management & Measurement has honored Nordson Corp. with its 2006 Performance Through People Award. The award formally recognizes Nordson's commitment to the principles of people performance management (PPM) and the company's ability to align, integrate, and optimize the role that all of its employees worldwide play in helping to meet customer needs and achieve organizational objectives. Bruce Fields, Nordson's vice president of Human Resources, accepted the award during the Forum's first national conference on people performance management, recently held at Chicago's McCormick Center South in conjunction with Marketing Days and The Motivation Show. "It is an honor to accept this award from the Forum, which has generated substantial research and knowledge about the burgeoning business field of people performance management," Fields said. "Nordson's people performance strategies arose from our unwavering commitment to our customers. We invest time and other resources to recruit talented people who can deliver solutions to meet customers' needs."

SARTOMER PRESIDENT ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT

Nicholas Trainer, president of Sartomer Co., has announced his retirement from the company effective Jan. 1, 2007. Trainer joined the company in 1969 as a technical sales representative, was named general manager in 1975 and was promoted to president the following year. He steered the company through numerous acquisitions, sales and restructurings during the 1980s, driving an extensive growth phase with a series of product line and company acquisitions, new product development and aggressive market expansion. Under Trainer's leadership, Sartomer's annual sales revenue grew from approximately $2 million in the late 1960s to more than $420 million in 2005.

SEA-LAND CHEMICAL TO REPRESENT LANXESS

The Sea-Land Chemical Company has announced it will represent Lanxess' Baypure product line of biodegradable chelating and dispersing agents. Lanxess, a global manufacturer of specialty chemicals, views Sea-Land Chemical Co. as a perfect fit for the Baypure Products, which are widely used in Europe but relatively new to North America. With Sea-Land's seven stocking locations nationwide, they will be able to fulfill customer requirements in a timely fashion.
