3M, St. Paul, MN, recently announced its acquisition of the Rite-Lok global industrial adhesives product line from Chemence Inc. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The complete Rite-Lok brand product line includes anaerobic threadlockers, retaining compounds, gasket makers, thread sealants, structural adhesives, and specialty cyanoacrylate instant adhesives for industrial uses.
The CHEMARK Consulting Group Inc., Southern Pines, NC, and Specialty Coating Services, Louisville, KY, have announced the formation of a collaborative association. Both companies will operate independently and remain legally separate, with business management and technical capabilities being shared between the two.
CHEMCENTRAL, Bedford Park, IL, has announced it will represent New Phase Technologies’ personal care and cosmetics product offerings in the continental U.S. New Phase Technologies offers a range of polyethylene and alpha olefin-based polymers that improve the performance and enhance aesthetics of personal care products.
Deacom, Inc. has announced that it has joined the Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association (SOCMA). The company produces the DEACOM Integrated Accounting and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software System for process and mixed-mode manufacturers, including manufacturers of paint, coatings, ink, adhesives, sealants, food and beverages, cosmetics and cosmeceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and specialty chemicals.
The Dow Chemical Co., Midland, MI, has announced plans to expand product at its Freeport, Texas, MDI facility by 50% over the next 36 months. In Sept. 2006, the company also announced plans to expand MDI production at its Estarreja, Portugal, site. These two projects are expected to significantly increase Dow’s global MDI capacity and support the future growth plans of Dow’s performance businesses.
