ASME Announces Ostrowski as Chair of Committee on Ethical Standards and Review
Edward T. Ostrowski, P.E., an engineer at Fluor Enterprises, Greenville, SC, will begin a term as chair of the ASME Committee on Ethical Standards and Review (CESR) in June.
The committee is responsible for the activities of ASME that relate to ethics in engineering and engineering practice. Programs include maintaining the ASME Code of Ethics and policies on conflicts of interest and sexual harassment, as well as establishing procedures for handling ethics cases. CESR also sponsors seminars and develops websites on engineering ethics.
Ostrowski, who has served on CESR since the committee’s inception in 2005, represents ASME on the executive board of the National Institute of Engineering Ethics, where he develops engineering ethics training materials, among other key activities.
