ENCOR^®Flex 192 is a new modified acrylic binder designed for coatings used in the restoration of low-slope, commercial thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofing membranes. The binder can offer dirt pickup resistance and adhesion to TPO, and can reportedly eliminate the need for a solvent primer to help lower roof maintenance and restoration costs.

“Thermoplastic polyolefin membranes are popular and durable roofing materials, but eventually these systems must be repaired or replaced,” said Eric Kaiser, Global Marketing manager. The useful life of an installed TPO roof that is starting to show wear in the form of cracking, UV degradation, discoloration and loss of reflectivity can often be extended through the use of an elastomeric roof coating. By introducing ENCOR Flex 192, we are offering the formulator a binder specifically designed to enhance coating adhesion to low-energy TPO substrates without the added cost of a solvent primer, and to enable coatings that restore the reflectivity and energy savings properties of the original roof membrane.”
