3M™ Fast Tack water-based adhesive 1000NF can reportedly serve as an alternative to solvent-based adhesives. The product offers strength and speed comparable to solvent-based adhesives, with additional benefits including zero volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and GREENGUARD™ certification.

Reportedly suitable for a variety of applications, including furniture manufacturing, mattress and upholstery manufacturing, woodworking, foam bonding and insulation attachment, and specialty vehicle manufacturing, the adhesive is derived from a tape formulation that gains strength as it dries. This chemistry reportedly gives the adhesive capabilities that were lacking in previous water-based adhesives, including fast bonding (1-10 minutes) and a strong ultimate strength.
