The Synthomer board of directors recently inaugurated a new 36,000-t expansion to the company’s acrylic dispersions production facility in Worms, Germany. The investment increases the site’s capacity in excess of 30%, and Synthomer reports that its fully automated production facility significantly enhances the site’s capability to produce made-to-order specialty acrylics.

The successful conclusion of the project was accompanied by guided tours for the board members through the new facilities and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque. Neil Johnson, chairman of the board, took the opportunity to thank the project team for the professionally executed expansion.

“Synthomer as one of the world leaders in water-based polymers has a long term commitment to support industry growth,” said Calum MacLean, chief executive of Synthomer. “The investment adds a world class facility for innovative acrylic dispersions in the heart of our extensive European dispersion network, which allows us to better serve our customers.”
