COVID-19: The Crisis Continues
COVID-19’s economic impact is being felt around the world. What are the ramifications for the adhesives and sealants industry?
As I write this column in mid-April, about 22 million people in the U.S. have filed for unemployment over the past month. It’s an absolutely staggering number. Sectors such as industrial manufacturing and construction (particularly large-scale commercial projects) have been particularly hard hit.
I spoke with Daniel Murad, president of The ChemQuest Group, about how COVID-19 is impacting the supply chain, which end-use segments are providing opportunities and which are truly struggling, and some steps that companies in the adhesives and sealants industry can take to navigate the crisis. “Timely development and implementation of contingency plans are really critical for business operations, and in particular for key imported raw materials,” he says.
