Evaluating New Normals

The “new normal” seems to be changing almost every day. How are you and your company managing during these tumultuous times?

By Susan Sutton

We have all seen and experienced so many changes over the past few months. COVID-19 has caused a health crisis on a level most of us hadn’t even imagined, beyond the pages of dystopian fiction. In addition, the financial and economic losses are staggering; even depression doesn’t properly encompass the abrupt and massive contraction we’re seeing in today’s economy. I keep struggling to absorb the “new normal,” but the truth is that it changes almost every day.

As we all try to navigate through this crisis and develop new “normals” for our continuously evolving circumstances, I’m reminded of something Theodore Roosevelt said: “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” We can’t solve the world’s problems. We can’t even address all of our problems. What we can do is take a beat, asses our current situation, and do the best we can with our current resources. Perhaps we’ll even find new opportunities along the way.

Along those lines, the new design in this issue of ASI reflects our move to an all-digital platform beginning with the August issue. The larger text and graphics, as well as additional white space, are intended to enhance the reader experience. Please let me know what you think!

This issue of ASI features our fourth annual Equipment Handbook, which provides reference material and supplier details to help you understand and source the equipment your company needs to succeed. The Address Listings include supplier contact information and brief descriptions.* Equipment overviews follow, and an Equipment Index is included for your reference.

The Equipment Handbook is also available at www.adhesivesmag.com/equipmenthandbook. The searchable online directory features our Request for Proposal option, as well as additional details and functionality. Be sure to bookmark the page for easy reference.

I’m interested to hear how you and your company are managing in the ongoing crisis. Please contact me at suttons@bnpmedia.com or (248) 786-1704 to share your story.

*Supplier listings indicate paid advertising. For pricing and additional details, contact AnnaMarie McCann at mccanna@bnpmedia.com or (610) 436-4220, ext. 8518.
