Evonik's Coating Additives business line recently announced that it is working to improve the supply situation by increasing production capacity of its TEGO^® Glide and TEGO Wet additive product lines. For the first time, these additives are being produced at Evonik's multiuse site in Shanghai, China, in addition to the existing production facilities in Germany. The company reports that this significant capacity increase will ensure reliable availability not only for Asian customers but for coating manufacturers around the globe.

“This means higher supply security for all our customers worldwide as well as reduced lead times for our Asian customers,” said Gaetano Blanda, head of the business line. “Furthermore, the capacity increase allows for quicker reaction to changing market demands.”

The properties and quality of the products produced in Shanghai reportedly remain the same as those manufactured in Germany. This is true regarding specifications, production processes, recipes, quality control measures, and CAS numbers. The production facilities in Shanghai are already fully operational, and the additives are available for customers worldwide.
