The Adhesive and Sealant Council, Inc.'s fall convention in Baltimore was a success, with over 300 registered attendees.
Sessions were well attended, especially those focusing on current trends and challenges, as well as technical and formulating papers. New this year was a Lightning Round session, a roundtable-style session where participants discusses two key industry issues: rising costs and seizing opportunities. Look for a feature article in a future issue of ASI based on the challenges and opportunities discussed in this session.
Another popular topic was the Distributors and Manufacturers Panel, a session in which adhesive and sealant manufacturers and distributors sat down and talked about the issues and challenges each of them face, both on their own and with each other. Moderated by ASC President Larry Sloan, the panel discussion was a frank look at what each company can do to help the other succeed.
The sold-out exposition, which took place Monday afternoon, was well attended. Both exhibitors and attendees commented on the quality of the expo.
Congrats to the ASC for another well-done event! For information on the Spring 09 ASC Convention, visit www.ascouncil.org.
