Last week, we asked: ‘Salary transparency’ is a term that keeps popping up in the news – from a story on NPR’s All Things Considered to companies like Buffer publicly posting their employees’ salaries. Do you think salary transparency is a good thing? A whopping 73% said no, while 18% said yes and 9% were unsure.

Comments:

“Salary information should be private. Public disclosure breeds morale problems and is a very, very bad idea!!”

“Yes, at the top management level.”

“People hide things because revealing them would be embarrassing. What's the mystery!?”
