After four long years, the coatings community is again meeting in-person in Nuremberg, Germany, for the European Coatings Show and Conference 2023. The European Coatings Show is taking place March 28-30 at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. Whether their focus is on paints, printing inks, laboratory, production testing or measuring equipment, adhesives, or construction chemicals, trade visitors will be able to interact with specialized suppliers from all around the world who will exhibit their products. With more than 140 presentations, the semi-parallel European Coatings Show Conference, happening March 27 and 28, will offer more than 140 presentations showcasing the latest innovations within the industry.
The European Coatings Show Conference will offer presentations on the latest industry trends. Coatings formulators will learn about the newest formulations and process and equipment technology while they network and exchange experiences with other professionals in their field. Topical issues will include up-to-date information about the shortage of raw materials and rising raw material costs. One session is devoted to the results of an international research partnership funded by the EU. The Decoat Project is developing a solution to facilitate the use of textiles and plastic components with (multilayer) coatings according to the closed-loop recycling principle. The opening keynote will be given by Wijnand Bruinsma from Akzo Nobel, who will speak on “The role of paints and coatings in a sustainable future.”
Nine pre-conference tutorials on Sunday, March 26, will quickly bring newcomers within the field up to speed. Topics of these tutorials include functional coatings, formulating adhesives and sealants, understanding biocides and the latest regulations, polyurethane coatings, dispersing pigments and fillers — theory to practice, basics of architectural coatings, fundamentals of color and appearance, application processes in coatings, and basics of anti-corrosive coatings. .
The conference will also offer networking opportunities where professionals can share their experiences and expertise with colleagues. At the end of the first day, a reception will provide additional time for networking in a relaxed atmosphere.
Additionally, the best conference submission will be recognized with the European Coatings Show Award.
The European Coatings Show will be held in a total of eight exhibition halls, six of which will be dedicated to raw materials for paints, printing inks and adhesives, construction chemical precursors, and associated services. Hall 4 will spotlight laboratory and production technology, testing and measuring systems, application technology, environmental protection, and occupational safety. Exhibitors from all product segments will occupy Hall 4 A.
In more than 140 product presentations combined into 24 sessions, exhibitors will share their expertise by using their raw materials and laboratory, production, testing and measuring technology. The presentations will take place on stages in Halls 3, 3A, and 5. A Start-up Area in Hall 2 give start-ups and young companies from Germany and other countries an opportunity to present their companies and product innovations. Additional start-up presentations in the exhibitor forum in Hall 3 will provide further insights into the sector’s start-up scene.
