The ChemQuest Group recently announced that Ramki Subramanian, Ph.D., has joined its business development team as a vice president. Subramanian has spent 30 years developing expertise in technology development/commercialization and business development in the specialty chemicals, advanced materials, and energy sectors. He has experience in championing “concept to commercialization” for new technologies and building new businesses by developing novel technologies, particularly in emerging markets.

After spending much of his career in various development and commercialization roles with The Dow Chemical Co., in both the United States and India, Subramanian founded Lithe Power Storage Solutions to address the chronic power problem in India. He later served as senior vice president for petrochemicals business development with Reliance Industries Ltd., and most recently was managing director and global director for mobility with DowAksa USA LLC. 

Subramanian holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Loyola College, Madras, a bachelor’s degree in paint technology from UDCT, Bombay, and a doctorate in physical organic chemistry from Loyola University of Chicago.
