Safic-Alcan Continues Expansion in Latin America with Latest Acquisition

Specialty chemicals distributor Safic-Alcan recently announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Anders, a regional specialty chemical distributor in South America. Established in 1964, the company is now in its third generation under the leadership of Peter Anders Hornung. Headquartered in Lima, Peru, it also has offices in Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile, Colombia, and Argentina, as well as operations in Uruguay and Paraguay. This footprint positions Anders as a truly pan–Latin American player and an excellent complement to Safic-Alcan’s existing operations in Brazil.
Anders distributes specialty chemicals, food ingredients, consumables, and equipment from leading global suppliers, serving a broad range of life science and industrial sectors, including coatings, inks, adhesives, and converting and packaging. With its solid market position and strong local expertise, Anders has become a trusted partner for customers and suppliers throughout Latin America.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue the legacy created by Peter, his father Peter Sr. and grandfather Eugenio before him. We now have a formidable presence across Latin America, and we look forward to continuing to bring value to our clients and suppliers in the region. With our additional companies in the USA, Canada and Mexico, Safic-Alcan confirms its intention to be a key player in the Americas for years to come,” said Yann Lissillour, CEO of the Safic-Alcan Group.
