Inteplast Group has acquired STA LLC, Rogersville, Tennessee, and has renamed it STA Coated Technologies. STA has joined Inteplast’s BOPP Films business unit within the AmTopp Division to expand its capabilities into custom coatings. BOPP Films’ other four locations are in Gray Court, South Carolina; Lolita, Texas; Morristown, Tennessee; and Lanoraie, Quebec.  

STA, with its staff of 40, produces a portfolio of high-performance adhesive tapes and is an industry leader in the application of sustainable aqueous adhesives and primer coatings.

Will Smith, STA COO, remains with STA Coated Technologies as part of its leadership team and will work with Homer Hsieh, president of AmTopp, and Paul Marquard, vice president and general manager of BOPP Films, to ensure a smooth transition for employees and customers.

Hsieh said the expansion of BOPP Films through STA will optimize the unit’s dynamic portfolio. “Inteplast BOPP is dedicated to expanding its product innovation and material research to meet the evolving market demands. The addition of STA's capabilities and capacity will further enhance our existing offerings,” said Hsieh.

Paul Marquard, vice president and general manager of BOPP Films, noted that STA Coated Technologies’ portfolio advances Inteplast’s goals for product line extensions and supports customers’ evolving needs. “We are excited to incorporate STA’s capabilities and technical solutions into our business.
