What started nearly a century ago with the production of basic natural glues has since grown into a global competence center for polyurethane adhesives. Jowat Swiss AG is advancing this long-term development with plans to add a new facility at the Swiss location. The expansion of the manufacturing site has already received the necessary construction permits. The new facility will be based on a load-bearing glulam structure manufactured using adhesives produced by Jowat.

Sustainable Growth

The planned expansion reflects the long-term commitment of the Jowat Group to the Swiss market. Designed with a load-bearing glued timber structure, the new facility combines modern, sustainable building practices with Jowat’s core business: high-performance adhesives for industrial applications. The new warehouse will offer approximately 1,160 m² of total floor space and a building volume of about 14,000 m³. Overall, the building will measure roughly 46 meters in length, 21 meters in width and 16 meters in height.

Dr. Olaf Meincke, managing director of Jowat Swiss AG and a member of the Board of Directors of Jowat SE, explained, “A defining aspect of this project is the consistent use of our own products. The adhesives used in the construction are produced by Jowat, providing a tangible demonstration of the performance and versatility of our product portfolio in real-world applications.”

The project will be realized in cooperation with Strüby Konzept AG, an experienced Swiss specialist in timber structures, as the project’s construction partner. With approvals in place, the project is ready to proceed to the next phase as planned.

Changes in Management

Within the framework of the Administrative Board’s ordinary meeting in March 2026, Mr. Anton Rüegg concluded his tenure as managing director of Jowat Swiss AG. The Jowat Group extends its thanks and appreciation to Mr. Rüegg for his long-standing contributions and wishes him all the best in his future endeavors. At the same meeting, Dr. Olaf Meincke was appointed managing director of Jowat Swiss AG by the Administrative Board. Dr. Olaf Meincke will assume this function in addition to his role as member of the Board of Directors of Jowat SE. Day-to-day operations will continue to be managed by the two authorized signatories Mrs. Simone Kaiser (commercial) and Mr. Marcel Widin (technology).

Realignment of Swiss Sales

The Jowat Group realigned its sales activities in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) under a unified leadership. Its Swiss sales organization is now integrated into the German sales structure. The new DACH sales organization is led by Mr. Kay-Henrik von der Heide, who has assumed strategic and operational responsibility for the entire region. The Swiss Sales team and the Customer Service of Jowat Swiss AG has been incorporated into this structure. Klaus Kullmann, Board of Directors member responsible for Sales and Marketing, explained, “The Jowat Group is confident that this realignment will further strengthen our market presence in the DACH region and provide even more focused service to our customers.”
