ChemRep Inc., Arlington Heights, Ill., distributor of Chemlok adhesives, received an Outstanding Supplier Award from Alliant Missile Product Co. for distinguished performance during 2000. The distinction is granted to the top 4% of the company's suppliers each year for superior quality, productivity and delivery. Chemlok adhesives are manufactured by Lord Corp., Cary, N.C.

Ciba Specialty Chemicals Corp., Brewster, N.Y., has appointed Tri-Iso, Claremont, Calif., sales representative for its line of acrylic resins and additives for coatings applications in the Western United States, including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona. Ciba's polymer specialties products include dispersants, binder resins and rheological-control agents for use in waterborne adhesives, coatings and inks.

Cimbar Performance Minerals, Cartersville, Ga., has appointed Durr Marketing Associates, Inc., Pittsburgh, as its distributor in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Western New York, Maryland, Delaware and Virginia. Durr Marketing will sell Cimbar's line of barytes and organoclays, which are marketed under the Cimbar and Organotrol trade names.

Hedwin Corp., Baltimore, which pioneered the design and construction of plastic liners to be used in industrial applications, celebrated its 55th year of operation in May. In addition to its family of pail and drum liners, and flexible packaging such as the Cube Insert and Cubitainer, the company produces standard rigid-container products, as well as custom-made rigid- and flexible-container products.

Morehouse-COWLES, South Haven, Mich., a division of MFIC Corp., recently opened its International Grinding Media and Spare Parts Office in South Haven. This new service offers industries a broad selection of grinding media and COWLES blades.

Saiden Technologies, Sanford, N.C., a wholly owned subsidiary of Saiden Chemical, Japan, recently opened its new polymerization and compounding facility in Sanford. The company manufactures acrylic, vinyl-acrylic and styrene-acrylic emulsion polymers at the new facility, in addition to producing a line of compounded adhesive products.
