NORCROSS, Ga., -- TAPPI 's annual Polymers, Laminations, Adhesives, Coatings and Extrusions (PLACE) Conference will be held September 8-12, 2002, at the Boston Marriott Copley Place. The conference will attract hundreds of converters, suppliers, and other converting and packaging professionals, and will provide a forum to view new innovations in the flexible-packaging industry and discuss these innovations with speakers and colleagues.

In addition to the recurring sessions on lamination, extrusion coating, film processing and high-barrier films, the 2002 conference will have several novel sessions including the pilot-coater capabilities of suppliers and manufacturers. Key regulatory issues such as Clean Air Act MACT standards for the coatings industry and a worldwide look at trends in food-contact legislation will be discussed. New this year, three sessions on the technology basics will be combined into one session to offer a broader exposure to all technologies.
