Atlas Material Testing Technology has announced the formation of a weathering "Center of Excellence" at its world headquarters in Chicago. In support of this Center of Excellence, the current Atlas accelerated weathering laboratory in Miami will be relocated to Chicago. Atlas' reputation as an industry leader in accelerated testing services will now be complemented through local support in test program development, on-site engineering for instrument enhancements and on-site technical service at the U.S. manufacturing headquarters for Atlas Instruments. In addition, the increased laboratory footprint will provide much-needed space for continued growth in accelerated weathering test services.

Construction in on schedule on the new 4000 sq. ft. facility and is expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2008. Atlas will continue to provide ISO 17025 accredited service in this new state-of-the-art laboratory. Xenon, metal halide, carbon-arc and fluorescent testing, and a full array of evaluation services (Gloss, Color, Visual assessments, etc.) will be provided.
