Dover Chemical Corp. now has polyisobutylene succinic anhydride (PIBSA) and derivative products in commercial production at its Hammond, IN, facility. PIBSA is a versatile chemical intermediate that adds functionalities - particularly dispersion - to hydrocarbon products used in a range of applications, including additives for petroleum-based and biofuels, oil drilling, explosives, coatings, adhesives, and water treatment.

“Our manufacturing process control produces high-quality PIBSA and derivatives, and we offer technical expertise to customers who order anything from drums to railcars,” says Brad Barth, Dover business product manager. “Our current capacity is geared to smaller-sized lots suitable for niche to mid-size opportunities.”
