Tour de France Cyclists Leery of Tire Sealant - At Least for Now (7/16/10)

Riders in the annual cycling race do not use liquid sealant-a preferred tool among mountain bikers-to prevent tire failure or flats. According to BMC team mechanic Ian Sherburne, “weight and [lack of] familiarity” are two chief reasons for the absence of tire sealant use at the Tour de France. However, some professionals feel that this may change in the years to come.
