Two new nonionic fluorosurfactants, APFS-70S and APFS-71S, are now available. Designed to improve the wetting and leveling characteristics of inks, coatings and polishes at very low loading levels, the products can reportedly provide greater surface tension reduction than can be achieved with either hydrocarbon or silicone-based surfactants. The materials are based on short chain fluoropolymer technology and, as such, are considered to be non-PFOA contributing.
