BRB Silicones recently announced that its BRB Malaysia plant opened on June 2. With the official grand opening of the new silicone synthesis plant, BRB has expanded its Malaysian industrial footprint to further back integrate in dimethicone copoyols, alkyl dimethicones and volatile dimethicones.

The facility is a multi-purpose silicone synthesis plant and GMP production facility, reportedly with a combined annual capacity of 10,000 metric tons. The plant is designed to manufacture vinyl silicone fluid, silicone polyether, low viscosity polydimethyl siloxane fluids, crosslinkers and chain extenders, gum blends, silicone emulsions and silicone antifoams.
