Kraton Corp. recently announced that it received a Silver recognition medal for its sustainability rating from EcoVadis. This is reportedly the seventh consecutive year that the company was recognized for its sustainability performance.

“This continuous recognition demonstrates Kraton’s commitment to sustainability at every level of our organization,” said Nella Baerents, Kraton’s Sustainability Policy director. “We believe sustainability will help us to grow, improve productivity and manage risks.”

Kraton’s Supplier Code of Conduct, Conflict Minerals Policy, and Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement guides its 6,000 global suppliers on the company’s expectations. Issues include high integrity and ethical behavior regarding human rights, material supply sourcing, and fair competition. In 2018, Kraton began rolling out its responsible procurement program and became an Enterprise user of EcoVadis ratings to further improve sustainability performance and reduce risks in the supply chain.

“Our direct engagement with customers, and especially suppliers, through the EcoVadis platform is an example of risk management in action,” said Suzanne Pesgens, Kraton’s vice president and chief procurement officer. “At the end of the day, we have to progress and build a sustainable economy together with all actors in the value chain. No company can do it alone.”

EcoVadis is a global provider of business sustainability ratings, intelligence, and collaborative performance improvement tools for global supply chains. The EcoVadis platform and sustainability scorecards reportedly provide insight into environmental, social, and ethical risks across 198 purchasing categories and 155 countries.
