Polyscope recently announced the appointment of Maroon Group LLC as a U.S. distributor for its Xiran^® styrene maleic anhydride (SMA) copolymer resins and aqueous solutions. According to Polyscope, the main characteristics of Xiran copolymers are transparent appearance, high heat resistance, high dimensional stability, and the specific reactivity of the anhydride group. Typical applications reportedly include adhesives, coatings, over-print varnishes, and gypsum-based construction products, and as a key building block for pigment dispersants.
