The Adhesive & Sealant Council (ASC) is seeking speakers for two short courses: Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (PSAs) and Caulks & Sealants. Both courses will be co-located with the 2023 Annual Convention & EXPO, which is scheduled for April 17-19, 2023, in New Orleans, La. The primary audience for both courses is suppliers, formulators, and end users in these technologies.

Speakers for the Caulks & Sealants Short Course are needed for the following preliminary topics:

  • Fundamentals in caulks/sealants, mechanics, durability, testing
  • Polymer types—acrylic, vinyl acetate, polyurethane and SMP, silicones
  • Additives—adhesion promotors, fillers, modifiers, plasticizers, UV stabilizers
  • Design considerations—specifications, architect to applications
  • Markets—building/construction, with possible assembly and transportation considered
  • Innovations, regulatory, sustainable topics

Regarding the Pressure Sensitive Adhesives Short Course, speakers are needed for the following preliminary topics:

  • Fundamentals in surfaces, rheology, testing
  • Polymer technology types—acrylic, styrene block copolymers, waterborne, hot melts, cure mechanisms
  • Additives—surfactants, tackifiers, plasticizers, silane/silicones
  • Application/dispense converting topics—liners, backing, converting
  • Markets—tapes and labels, medical, structural
  • Innovations, regulatory, sustainable topics
