Requiring just UV light, oxygen, and renewable raw materials, patent applications have already been filed for resins and coatings made with monomers derived from sugar derivatives isolated from biomass.
AkzoNobel recently announced what it calls a breakthrough innovation, in collaboration with the Dutch Advanced Research Center Chemical Building Blocks Consortium (ARC CBBC), of a more sustainable way of making resins.

Single-Family Housing Starts at Highest Pace Since Spring of 2007

Single-family starts in October 2020 increased 6.4% to a 1.18 million seasonally adjusted annual rate and were up 8.6% year-to-date.
Led by solid gains in single-family production, overall housing starts increased 4.9% in October 2020 to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.53 million units, according to a report from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Census Bureau.
