Raise your hand if you're not tired of hearing the doom-and-gloom news about the economy and the state of manufacturing in the U.S.

Nobody? That's what I thought.

Now read this about an Indiana-based adhesive manufacturer that's actually expanding its facility:Royal Adhesives and Sealants is planning to invest $4.3 million to add manufacturing and warehouse space to its South Bend, IN, operations.

The project is expected to create 28 jobs and would include the purchase of nearly $3.2 million in equipment, according to a press release from the city of South Bend.

The expansion will include an 8,300-square-foot production plant and a 22,500-square-foot warehouse. Equipment to be purchased includes mixers, raw material storage tanks, various pilot mixers and testing equipment.

The company already employs 116 in South Bend, and specializes in epoxy, urethane, solvent-based, and water-based adhesives, sealants, and potting compounds used in a range of industrial applications.
