Step aside stiches, there is a new glue in town.  No, surgical glues are not a new concept, however the testing phase results for MeTro, the new liquid that can fill in gaps to conform to the shape of a wound, demonstrates that this glue provides a strong elastic connection between tissues with activation using a UV light and a dry time of 60 seconds. Testing also showed that the biodegradability of the adhesive can be adjusted from days to months based on the time frame the tissue needs to heal. Next up for the glue are the clinical trials to test long-term effects.
