As pointed out in a 2012 Radtech Report article (UV Light-Curing Adhesives for Increased Productivity) by DELO Industrial Adhesives, UV curing improves the quality, safety and reliability of sealing and bonding applications. For automotive component manufacturers, and for the assembly of delicate electronics such as graphic displays, fast, low temperature polymerization has enabled many applications that may have been impossible with thermal cure technology.
However, like all adhesives, UV chemistries can also present challenges when it comes to achieving adhesion to some particularly difficult plastic substrates. Recently, engineers have found that these bonding problems can be overcome using atmospheric plasma treatment to clean and activate the part surface.
This webinar will explore the most recent advances in UV curing adhesives technology and the use of atmospheric plasma surface treatment to ensure adequate adhesion when necessary. Examples from automotive and electronics applications will be presented with guidance on proper adhesive selection, process development and testing.
This webinar is particularly well suited for end-users of adhesives and sealants for a wide range of demanding applications, as well as suppliers of related technology.
