Henkel is a global provider of chemical and consumer goods, offering a wide range of products including adhesives, sealants, functional coatings, cosmetics, and household cleaning solutions. Established in 1876, the company operates through two main business units: Adhesive Technologies and Consumer Brands. In 2024, Henkel reported revenues of approximately €21.6 billion (approx. $22.4 billion), reflecting a 0.3% increase over 2023. Adhesive Technologies contributed 51% of this total, generating around €10.97 billion (approx. $11.39 billion), up 1.7% from the previous year.
The Adhesive Technologies unit supports diverse industries such as automotive, electronics, packaging, aerospace, medical, construction, and general manufacturing. It is structured into three segments: Mobility & Electronics, which made up 36% of the unit’s sales in 2024; Packaging & Consumer Goods, accounting for 30%; and Craftsmen, Construction & Professional, comprising 34%. Mobility & Electronics recorded €3.895 billion (approx. $4.04 billion) in sales, a 1.2% year-over-year increase; Packaging & Consumer Goods reached €3.337 billion (approx. $3.47 billion), down 2.2%; and Craftsmen, Construction & Professional posted €3.738 billion (approx. $3.88 billion), up 5.9% from 2023.
Henkel’s Adhesive Technologies portfolio features major industrial brands such as Loctite, Technomelt, Bonderite, Teroson, and Aquence, and consumer and craftsmen brands like Pritt, Loctite, Ceresit, and Pattex.
NOTES: Key developments in 2024 and 2025 include Henkel’s April 2024 acquisition of U.S.-based Seal for Life Industries, expanding its protective coatings and sealing offerings for infrastructure and sustainability markets. In June 2024, Henkel opened its second Application Center in Thanh Hoa, northern Vietnam, to enhance support for sports and fashion brands in Asia-Pacific and Greater China.
In July 2024, Henkel India completed Phase III of its manufacturing facility in Kurkumbh, near Pune. In September 2024, the company opened a cutting-edge Battery Test Center at its Düsseldorf headquarters, boosting its innovation leadership in e-mobility. In November 2024, Henkel partnered with Celanese to produce water-based adhesives using carbon captured through CCU technology, aimed at improving sustainability in packaging and consumer goods industries.
In February 2025, Henkel launched an Application Engineering Center in Chennai and a new adhesive materials plant near Pune to support India’s growing electronics sector. That same month, it opened a new Application Center in Busan, South Korea, to strengthen its role in the sports and fashion industry. In April 2025, Henkel completed the sale of its North American Retailer Brands business to an affiliate of First Quality Enterprises, concluding its Consumer Brands portfolio optimization strategy announced in 2022 and sharpening its focus on branded, innovation-led consumer products.
