Global consulting firm The ChemQuest Group Inc. recently announced it is marking its 50^th anniversary this year. Since its founding in 1976, ChemQuest has assisted hundreds of clients in thousands of projects and special assignments to identify and implement strategies that enable long-term profitable growth.

At its beginning, the company served principally as a provider of market research studies. Today, ChemQuest holds the unique position of trusted partner to clients all along the specialty chemicals and formulated products value chain, providing insight and support across four cross-functional business pillars: Business Strategy & Transformation, Technology Development, Operational Excellence, and M&A Advisory.

In 2016, ChemQuest founded the ChemQuest Technology Institute (CQTI). Now celebrating its 10^th anniversary in 2026, CQTI has enabled significant growth for hundreds of clients through technological evolutions, new product launches, and expansions into new or adjacent markets. ChemQuest’s laboratory capabilities expanded again in 2021, with its acquisition of the Powder Coating Research Group. Today’s ChemQuest Powder Coating Research (CQPCR) provides research and development support tailored for the specific needs of the powder coating industry.

Following the growth of CQTI and CQPCR, ChemQuest is taking the next step to support and enable the advancement of both labs by uniting them in one facility. Bringing all ChemQuest’s advanced laboratory capabilities under one roof in newly expanded facilities at the existing CQTI location in South Boston, Virginia, will enable the firm’s full range of contract research and development resources to provide next-level support for all technology clients.

As ChemQuest’s client base and facilities have grown over the decades, so too has its personnel. What began as a handful of consultants has expanded to today’s team of over 130 professionals, including 50 Ph.D. scientists, in nine countries around the globe. The firm’s associates all bring their unique experiences and perspectives in specialty chemicals, formulated products, and advanced materials to each project, working together to provide their deep expertise in support of the firm’s global clients.
