ENGINEERED POLYMER SOLUTIONS: Acrylic Polymer

October 11, 2026

Engineered Polymer Solutions (EPS) recently launched EPS® 2180, a high-solids, all-acrylic polymer designed to help adhesive and sealant formulators balance key performance requirements. Ideal for vinyl flooring adhesives, film-to-film lamination and plasticizer-free pigmented caulks, the polymer offers formulation flexibility across a broad range of adhesive and sealant applications.

"EPS® 2180 was developed to address a common challenge for adhesive formulators: achieving excellent peel adhesion without sacrificing shear performance," said Robert W. Sandoval, Ph.D., R&D technical director at EPS. "The polymer also delivers high-temperature shear resistance in a waterborne acrylic system.”

Developed with the needs of adhesive and sealant formulators in mind, key features include:

  • 60% solids
  • Broad adhesion
  • High-temperature shear resistance
  • Plasticizer resistance

The polymer is also made without APEOs and fluorosurfactants.
