Arkema Renews and Expands Product Carbon Footprint Certification

Arkema recently announced that TÜV Rheinland has renewed the certification of its product carbon footprint (PCF) calculation methodology according to the ISO 14067:2018 standard and extended it to include compliance with Together for Sustainability (TfS) Product Carbon Footprint Guideline for the Chemical Industry, version 3.0, December 2024.
According to Arkema, the certification confirms that its methodology for calculating individual product carbon footprints shared with customers is robust and complies with both the ISO 14067:2018 standard and the TfS guidelines.
The calculations cover emissions from cradle to gate and are based on Arkema's internal site-specific data, primary raw material data received from suppliers, and external secondary databases. The certification covers both manual calculations and automated calculations performed using Arkema's proprietary digital tool. The company reports that extending the certification to include TfS guidelines ensures alignment with its peers in the chemical and materials science sectors.
