HOUSTON — The world’s largest producer of epoxy resins officially established a new corporate identity. The Resins and Versatics business of Shell launched itself as Resolution Performance Products at EuroCoat 2000.

Resolution leads the world in the development, production and distribution of epoxy resins, curing agents and specialty monomers. Its products include many of the world’s leading resin and specialty-monomer brand names: EPIKOTE™ Resins, EPON™ Resins, EPI-CURE™ Curing Agents, EPI-REZ™ Waterborne Resins, HELOXY™ Modifiers, CARDURA™ Glycidyl Ester and VeoVa™ Monomers.

The name change signifies a new start for the business. As previously announced, Resolution is being sold to Apollo Management L.P., a New York private investment firm. It has also been announced that Marvin O. Schlanger, former president and CEO of ARCO Chemical, will be appointed chairman of the new entity on completion of the deal. The transaction is expected to be finalized in the fourth quarter of 2000.
