Loparex Inc. has announced that the 3M Foam Adhesive Dressing, which is manufactured with silicone release paper from Loparex, has received a 2005 Medical Design Excellence Award. This foam adhesive dressing is a bordered, highly absorbent foam dressing for treating moderate to highly exuding partial- to full-thickness dermal wounds such as pressure ulcers, neuropathic ulcers, abrasions and first- and second-degree burns. The release liner used in this application is designed to provide easy release when used with acrylic adhesives. It has been proven to perform well, maintaining specified release characteristics even after the dressings are sterilized. The 2005 Medical Design Excellence Award winners will be honored at a ceremony during the Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) East Conference and Exposition, June 13-15, 2005, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
