CMT ANNOUNCES 3RD ASIA FLEXPAK MARKETS & TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE
CMT's 3rd Asia Flexpack Markets & Technology Conference, to be held Sept. 27-28 in Bangkok, will focus on major flexpak materials and growth markets of China and India, as well as the emerging markets of Vietnam and the Middle East. China's demand for plastic film has grown 15.6% over the past decade. By the end of 2005, demand will advance to 8 million metric tons, growing 10.5% annually. Plastic film output will increase 8.3% annually through 2005. India, with a largely untapped market, offers great potential for double-digit growth. What are the cutting edge developments in Australia/New Zealand that Asia can adopt?
Growth in flexible packaging is driven by new applications and further gains on rigid containers. Plastic films will expand their lead over paper and foil. The market for packaging and label printing has expanded considerably in Asia. At the forefront of flexible packaging is the retort pouch, which continues to take market share from metal cans and glass bottles.
CMT's 3rd Asia Flexpak Markets & Technology conference will explore the various major substrates such as PP, PE, PET markets and useage in Asia. Other sessions will cover end use perspectives as well as new developments in printing, extrusion, coating, ink and adhesive markets.
