The Federation of Societies for Coatings Technology has announced the selection of Dr. Rose Ann Ryntz, senior manager and staff technical fellow of Visteon Corp., to deliver the Joseph J. Mattiello Memorial Lecture during the organization's 83rd Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting will be held with the 27th Biennial Western Coatings Societies Symposium at the Westin Casuarina Hotel and Spa in Las Vegas, NV, November 6-9, 2005. Ryntz's presentation, "Bring Back the Steel: The Growth of Plastics in Automotive Applications," will lead off the WCS Technical Symposium on Monday, Nov. 7. The invited lecture commemorates the contributions of Dr. Mattiello, former president of the FSCT (1943-44), who was instrumental in expanding the application of sciences in the decorative and protective coatings fields. He was vice president and technical director of Hilo Varnish Corp., Brooklyn, NY, when he died in 1948.
