Specialty Polymers, Inc., an Oregon-based manufacturer of chemical compounds used in glues, paints, inks and coatings, is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. Founded by Raymond Southwell in 1969, the company manufactures more than 250 water-based polymers, which serve as the major ingredient for house paints, wooden deck coatings, inks used on paper sacks, roof coatings, cement coatings and wood glues. Specialty Polymers has more than doubled its production and sales revenues over the past four years. Today, the company has 105 employees and is well known for its ongoing innovations, environmentally friendly emulsion polymers and exceptional customer service.
