The Polyurethane Division of the Society of the Plastics Industry announced that it left SPI to affiliate with the American Plastics Council (APC).

WASHINGTON — The Polyurethane Division of the Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. (SPI) announced that it left SPI to affiliate with the American Plastics Council (APC).

The Polyurethane Division represents companies that manufacture polyurethane chemicals, systems and products. The Division is committed to programs that help expand markets for all segments of the polyurethane industry. “SPI supported us and our industry for many years with its excellent programs and services,” says John C. Phelps, chairman, Polyurethane Divi-sion. “However, the move to APC will enable us to enhance our own issues-management programs and other services, so we can better support our members.” The Division will continue to promote greater use of polyurethane products, develop technology for recycling/recovering polyurethane processes, and publish “compliance guides” to help members understand and comply with complex government regulations.
